When I wrote this recipe, I googled the English name for this kind of Tofu skin, but found no answer for it. This is one kind of tofu skin made from soybean. It differs from the commonly seen tofu skin. This kind of tofu skin is thicker than commonly seen tofu skin by us. If you pay a visit to the northern area of Jiangsu Province of China, you will have the chance to eat them. Local people there loves to eat for it is cheaper than commonly seen tofu skin. So I have it called firm tofu threads here.
150g young garlic; 100g Tofu skin; some pork; 2 tbsp peanut oil; salt to taste; soy sauce to taste; sesame oil to taste
1. Wash and clean the young garlic, then slice into fine strips. Cut the tofu skin into fine strips. Slice the pork.
2. Add peanut oil into a wok and heat the wok. When the peanut oil is hot, add pork and stir fry until the smell gives out and the color changes.
3. Then add tofu skin and stir fry for 1 minute.
4. Add young garlic, salt, soy sauce and then stir fry for several times. Add sesame oil. Don’t sir fry too long. Then put into a plate and serve. Also switch off the heat.
